locals-trust Niceville: a chapter of local businesses, now forming
Forming: no business has joined yet; reviewed by Alim, locals-trust.
The locals-trust Niceville chapter is run by Cone Red. A business joins by passing the same published check as every other:
- A real local business: its address is in the town, or the business says it serves the town.
- A license: roofers hold an active Florida roofing contractor license (CCC or RC) and HVAC companies hold an active Florida air conditioning or mechanical contractor license (CAC, RA, CMC or RM), in the state license register (DBPR). Florida has no state locksmith license, so a locksmith is checked as registered (an active Florida company whose name and address match), reachable (its own website works and lists a phone that a second source also lists) and cross-checked (found in at least two independent sources, its own website not counting).
- The code of conduct, agreed and dated when the business applies.
- The owner confirms the facts we show about the business.
- A re-check at least every 90 days; a business whose license lapses is taken off until it is fixed.
Joining is free for the first businesses; dues never buy a rating or a place in any list.

Questions
What does 'verified' mean here?
A business in the chapter has passed every check on the criteria page: a real local business, an active Florida license of its trade where the state licenses it, the code of conduct agreed, the facts confirmed by the owner, and a re-check at least every 90 days. Each check is recorded with its source and date.
Do businesses pay to be listed?
Joining is free for the first businesses. Dues never buy a rating, a rank or a place in any list, and there is no ranking on this site.
How do I join?
Apply on the Niceville join page. We check the business against the criteria, including the state license register, and write to the owner about the application.
How do I report a business in the chapter?
File a complaint with DBPR online at MyFloridaLicense.com or in the DBPR mobile app. A business that breaks the code of conduct is asked to put it right; if it does not, it leaves the chapter. You can also write to [email protected].
